Virtual Big Brother

Season 11 started with 16 new players who each entered the game with a secret. After initially meeting one another and having short introductions, the players were shown the wall of secrets however the role of the secrets, their impact in the game or the identity of who owned which secret was not revealed. The importance of these secrets would be explained the next day prior to the start of the first Head of Household competition and the players were "highly encouraged" not to share their secret and that just as in life while some secrets may be safe to share, others might just come back to haunt you. As the players branched off into separate smaller groups to get to know one another speculations were already flying as to what the secrets could mean. AJ, Devon, Fabio and Christine formed their VBB Canadians group immediately after learning that they each were not the only Canadians in the cast sharing where in Canada they were from and sharing how they hoped having each other would help them in the game. Devon also initiated contact with Tesha saying that of everyone she was immediately drawn to her and wanted to hopefully forge a connection in the game that could take them far, and within minutes Devon divulged her secret of "having a near-genius IQ" to Tesha in an attempt to build trust. Nehemiah, the self-described Big Brother savant, sized up Erin and Justin and felt they both presented the kind of strategic and social presence he wanted to have as allies for his game and set out to connect with them individually while Devon also connected with Justin and then Hector. Justin and Hector sensed they were vibing on the same wave length and quickly connected. Justin also felt a kinship with Erin who felt the same about him. Amy was slower to talk with others as well as was Christine, they were "taking it all in", Tesha who can read energy was immediatlely alert to how very observant Erin was being and seemingly chatting with others during the initial zoom meet and greet. Amy, Trisha, Fabio, Tevin, Christine stayed relatively quiet but made small talk and polite conversation. Everyone was making their own way past the initial nervous awkwardness of meeting complete strangers for the first time in multiple converstaions happening all at the same time, many speaking in nervous excitement at being in the game, meeting everyone. Mari in her exuberance was fully engaged with everyone to the point where she began to dominate many of the conversations, making it challenging for people to feel they could speak without being interrupted which rubbed several people the wrong way already leading to an unfortunate first impression.

Devon and Justin shared information between themselves on interactions with Barrett and Richard, she also called them "sketchy" after having caught part of their conversation about how she had not been very responsive to them in their individual conversations with her. Justin also compared notes with Erin about who they thought some of the secrets might belong to while Mari felt the best way to fortify herself would be to form an alliance and decided to forge a 6-person team with herself, Erin, AJ, Tevin, Sarah & Devon and vocalized that she felt Nehemiah and Barrett would be her choices to target for nomination should she or anyone from her team win HoH, meanwhile a second 6-person group was cementing their alliance between Nehemiah, Devon, Justin, Hector, Tevin and Tesha feeling that they would have the pulse of the game and could control the voting as they all made their own connections throughout the house. The majority of conversations for many other players centered on what the first Head of Household competition could be and also focused on Mari as the likely first candidate for nomination. However, Justin felt keeping her as a target in the house would be a more prudent move and starting feeling others out and trying to plant seeds to do so. Unbeknownst to the players, the audience had been secretly voting between the numbers 3 and 4. The number with the majority of votes would determine how many people the first head of household would have to nominate for eviction. Just before the first HoH the houseguests were told what role the secrets would play in the game and results of the audience vote. Nehemiah won the first Head of Household and let Mari know he was nominating her because she named him as a target as well as in conversation she doesn’t listen as much as she talks. He also mentioned nominating Richard and Amy but his primary target would be Mari. Mari also revealed to the house that she had been recently diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum to explain some of her behaviors. Richard began sketching players out because his continual joking at getting information was starting to look more suspicious and Amy because she was the least communicative person in the game making her an easy target and he hadn't had a chance to connect with her. Nehemiah also correctly surmised that Mari's secret was “agoraphobia”. Right after the HoH competition concluded Nehemiah talked with Erin and Sarah in the HoH room where he told them that Tesha informed him that they were two of the three that did not vote for him during the HoH competition. It was actually Mari, Chrstine and Fabio who voted for AJ to become HoH. Later that night Sarah would relay to Tesha the information Nehemiah told to her and Erin regarding the votes to which she flatly denied saying "that wasn't true." Tesha then told this information to Devon wondering what his goal was in saying that casting a cloud of doubt over Nehemiah’s true intentions.

Nehemiah, aware of the tensions between Erin and Tesha, thought he may be able to play both sides against the middle and thought forming a separate alliance between himself, Erin and Sarah was the next step in his master plan of controlling the game and revealed the existence of his 6-person alliance calling them (Erin and Sarah) his true alliance. His obvious connection to Erin and Sarah would not go unnoticed by the members of the six who quickly began to question his loyalty leading Nehemiah to having to do a lot of damage repair with his original alliance of six trying to keep them off the trail of his true intentions. Nehemiah nominated Amy, Mari and Richard for eviction, and per the rules of the secrets twist all three nominees would have a chance to guess at the identity of an owner of a secret to change their fate. To everyone's surprise, Amy successfully guessed Hector’s secret of having auditioned for American Idol, removed herself from the block swapping places with Hector who became the fourth person to sit on the block during Nehemiah's reign. Tevin won the power of veto and while it had not been discussed, and despite Hector being part of the "six" and probably having the votes to stay, Tevin, feeling it was unfair to see Hector on the block, decided to use the veto removing him requiring Nehemiah to nominate a replacement making that a fifth person to sit on the block during his HoH. Nehemiah nominated Trisha in Hector's place. The nominees for eviction were Mari, Richard and Trisha. All three made unsuccessful attempts at guessing the identities of different secret owners. In an attempt to maintain trust between himself, Devon and Tesha, Nehemiah swore allegiance to Tesha separately and then with Devon while still working on a separate move with Erin and Sarah and trying to add more people to go against his six-person alliance. Devon, Barrett and Hector discussed their options regarding him. Barrett said "he’s basically created himself a 9-person alliance between the six and the others he’s aligned with". As the first eviction loomed with Mari, Trisha and Richard all trying to find the security needed to stay in the game, Justin and others thought keeping Mari would be the better move so she could be weaponized against others in the game, however Mari had it out for Devon feeling betrayed by her after learning Devon was throwing her name out to others days before as the probable one to leave due to her being seen as a liability in the game. Mari began to spread it around that Devon may be playing both sides of the house which spooked Devon. Justin felt he could manage to keep her in the game but after a while realized it wasn’t something he should pursue. Devon and AJ also both wanted to keep her over Richard however Fabio was deadset against voting out Richard. For a small moment people then considered Trisha but in the end Mari would become the first player evicted from the game.

Following Mari's eviction, Christine would win the next HoH igniting a hail of praise from the Canadians. Tesha, Justin, Hector and Devon were all very suspicious of Nehemiah’s motives but remained committed to their alliance feeling that they still could gain control of the game however with Christine as HoH they were not sure which direction she would go and hoped Devon, since she was also part of the Canadian alliance, would be able to have some influence in the hopes of keeping any of their alliance off the block. Sarah confided to Nehemiah that she had played in a previous but different online game of Big Brother but did not win and Nehemiah in turn, to build trust with her, revealed that he also had experience in playing online versions of games as well, and that although he had done well in them, he himself had also never won a game. Christine decided the best way to move forward was to chat with as many players as possible in the HoH room and to talk things over with the Canadians before making any firm decisions and one by one Christine met with players long into the night getting bits of information and stitching connections together. Nehemiah in talking with Erin divulged to her that Tesha, Tevin, Hector, Devon and Justin were definitely working together. They felt an opportunity to take out a member of the six was at hand and devised a plan of trying to steer Christine in that direction. That wasn't very hard since it had not escaped her notice that Tevin used the veto to save Hector raising an immediate red flag. Erin told Nehemiah she would strike up a friendly conversation with Christine and drop that as a bit of useful information that might help her make a decision on who to nominate. Erin then talked with Christine informing her of the alliance of Devon, Tesha, Tevin, Hector and Justin conveniently leaving out Nehemiah's name to Christine's surprise because Devon was also in her Canadian alliance. Christine then decided to tell her Canadian alliance what Erin had told her about the "5-member" alliance which Devon immediately found suspicious because she knew that Nehemiah must've shared that information with Erin, and that Erin in relaying it left Nehemiah off the list. Devon when asked by the Canadians if she was actually working with that group admitted to being connected to them but down played her commitment to the alliance saying that she was indeed 100% on-board with the Canadians for the long haul. Fabio and Christine discussed their suspicions of her privately while AJ, having suspicions of his own decided to not let it hinder his relationship to Devon, as did the others.

Christine felt she had enough information and decided to nominate Tevin and Hector for eviction saying that they were definitely connected in the game and Tevin using the veto on him so early in the game showed it. The "six" alliance was also outted to the rest of the house. Nehemiah's moves in the game were also immediately under scrutiny because it was clear that he was also connected to the six as well as with Erin and Sarah. Erin pointed fingers toward Devon for being behind the six alliance as well as possibly playing all sides of the house. Devon, now aware of Erin pointing out her actions going between the six and the Canadians, highlighted Erin for her role in influencing Christine’s intentions as well as trying to conceal Erin and Nehemiah’s connection. Seeing the outing of both groups with Nehemiah as a central figure between them prompted him along with Sarah and Erin to approach AJ and Justin to possibly work together. AJ relayed this to his Canadian alliance informing them that his only intention was to pretend to be in an alliance with them just to funnel information to the Canadians. Justin, catching wind of AJ's plan from Devon, decided to let Erin and Sarah know that AJ was not really committed to their new group causing distrust between Erin, Sarah and AJ. Barrett's name was thrown into the fray because he was initially the one to out the six stating that as he entered a room he overheard mention of "six" and when he inquired about it with Tevin, Tevin confirmed there was a six alliance and Barrett wanted in on the alliance. Barrett would later talk with Devon as well about the six, however when Nehemiah was confronted about his role in the six he denied confirming the alliance to Barrett saying that Barrett has been misdirecting information. Devon also became aware of Tesha’s and Nehemiah’s connection and assumed that she may be giving Nehemiah some information as well. This caused her some misgivings because Tesha was secretly her F2. Tevin, frustrated over the turn of events in the game decided to call a house meeting to "expose snakes in the game" however he only ended up talking about his own game having been blown up leaving many guessing who the snakes were that he said he was going to expose. Hector wound up winning the power of veto and removed himself from the block. Christine decided to nominate Sarah in his place. Tevin was the second player evicted from the game by a unanimous eviction vote.

Following Tevin's eviction. Richard would become the new HoH and after witnessing first-hand a very explosive argument between Nehemiah and Devon where Nehemiah downplayed his role in things and threw his ally Erin under the bus laying all the blame on her at orchestrating the attempted alliance between Nehemiah, Sarah and Erin. Richard's sights were firmly set on nominating at least one of them. Despite the shifting allegiances and revolving door-alliances, everyone was pretty set on seeing either Nehemiah or Erin leave. Erin and Nehemiah feeling their backs were against the wall decided that they both would make guesses at secrets after the veto competition to possibly save their games and make moves against the Canadian alliance. Nehemiah would win veto, saving himself and leaving ally Erin on the block to be joined by co-ally Sarah as his replacement. After doing a good amount of searching and detective work Erin felt she was on the right track and decided to guess at a secret. Erin guessed that Fabio was a Big Brother Semi Finalist which was incorrect. Sarah also made her guess that AJ witnessed a friend’s death, also incorrect so both ladies remained on the block. Talk of possibly saving Erin over Sarah began to emerge with some players hoping she might target others in the game like the Canadian alliance meanwhile Erin, feeling discouraged over the turn of events in the game essentially conceded her place in the game to the other houseguests, suggesting that they simply vote her out and keep Sarah. Justin felt that was bad sportsmanship saying that basically made up his mind on who to keep, for Tesha and Barrett it gave them more opportunity to weigh the pros and cons of keeping Erin but were not sure they had the numbers, thinking that maybe if they saved Erin despite the wishes of others, they might be able to weaponize her against the Canadian alliance. The day of eviction arrived and Erin, having a change of heart and a renewed attitude, decided to make one final attempt to remain in the game and gathered together Nehemiah, who again pledged his loyalty to her, along with Amy, Barrett, Tesha, Trisha and Hector hoping these people might pull through for her during eviction. She even pitched a hail mary to Devon offering a truce, assuring her of safety and that she had other targets but ultimately it did not work, Hector could not vote to keep Erin and it would only be Nehemiah, Amy and Trisha that voted for Erin to stay. Erin was voted out 8-3. Immediately following Erin's eviction the house was informed that a "backwards" twist was taking place in the game. The backwards twist would play out a new HoH cycle in reverse, where each of the remaining players would vote for two people to be nominated for eviction, then the two nominees, along with four randomly picked players would compete for the power of veto. Once that was complete the veto ceremony would be conducted with the new HoH competition to be played the following day, and the winner of the HoH would be the sole deciding vote of who went home. The houseguests voted and Nehemiah and Amy were nominated for eviction. The two nominees and four randomly chosen players were selected to play in the veto competition with Nehemiah again winning, earning his second veto win and saving himself from the block. The players voted again and Trisha would be the replacement nominee. Amy however decided that she did not like being nominated or feeling as if she was held liable for having voted to save Erin and could no longer continue playing and decided to leave the game citing she didn't want to play with a bunch of liars. Since Amy left the game while being a nominee for eviction, her departure was considered the eviction during the backwards twist, there would be no HoH competition and the game was reset.

Because of the uncertainty brought about by the secrets being in the game, Justin came up with a plan he thought might work as an alternative in case someone he didn't want to win, won the next HoH. His plan was that everyone except the Canadians (minus Devon) reveal their secrets and through process of elimination they figure out which secret belongs to who of the Canadians however Sarah won HoH and the plan was shleved. Sarah got information from Justin and Devon that AJ was the person who suggested Christine nominate Sarah. Sarah spent the majority of that evening talking to others to determine who she should nominate. Justin, Barrett, Devon and Sarah rejoiced at her winning HoH. Sarah nominated AJ and Fabio for eviction. Barrett would emerge as the winner of the power of veto and AJ was sent into solitary confinement, a punishment obtained during the veto competition, for 24 hours ending just prior to eviction. Nehemiah had a long talk with AJ stating that he was also on the outs with the rest of the house, that he was also looking at taking shots at other players not Canadian, in the hopes of mending fences and trying to prepare for the two of them possibly working together. Nehemiah pulled Sarah and Trisha together to express his concern over Justin saying that he (Justin) sees them as floaters to pick off and that he knows Justin sees him as a threat as he does Justin and that he’s ready to make a move against him with their help, however Sarah being an ally of Justin wasn't fully on-board with moving against him and felt caught in-between them. Fabio made his incorrect guess at a secret but also gave details on the secret and the person he guessed which was a violation of the rules and therefore a clue to his own secret was given to the house and since players knew who had made guesses strategy turned to the possibility of voting out AJ, keeping Fabio and booting him whenever because they were now possibly sure what his secret was and saw him as vulnerable. Fabio and AJ both campaigned to get votes to stay. Fabio and Barrett discussed why they had it out for one another, Barrett said it was from Fabio saying that Barrett was on his target list, despite Fabio insisting that was only a joke, from that point forward Barrett felt threatened by Fabio. AJ was evicted and Nehemiah would win the next HoH. Nehemiah nominated Fabio and Justin for eviction stating very clearly his target was Justin but would not backdoor him although he attributed much of the alienation he felt in the game to Justin and abandonment by several allies in the game. He laid the foundation for others to want to vote Justin out, however Justin would win the POV and removed himself from the block forcing Nehemiah to have to name a replacment so he nominated Richard as the replacement nomimee. Tesha and Barrett “coached” Richard into guessing Devon’s secret of having the high IQ in hopes of assuring Fabio leaving, and bringing Richard more under Barrett’s influence. Richard guessed Devon’s secret and switched places with her, and Devon took his place on the block. Eviction was not between Fabio and Devon. Fabio incorrectly guessed at a secret and was later evicted to become the first member of thejury. And as if it was in commemration of her fallen alliance member, Christine would win her second HoH and realized her decision could be complicated by the power of secrets still at play in the game, however she would wind up nominating Trisha and Richard. Devon and Christine theorized that Richard was fed information on Devon’s secret possibly by Nehemiah who had told Devon while he was HoH that he would not nominate her. Devon suspected that since Richard “guessed” her secret and she went up, Nehemiah could claim that he technically never nominated her.

Tesha, after doing more digging felt that she had possibly discovered Justin's secret, that he had played in a different online Big Brother game and won and together with Nehemiah and Barrett, they pondered whether they might be able to feed that info to Richard in hopes of getting Justin on the block. Trisha and Richard both were doing their own investigations into who owned which secrets. Barrett relayed that he thought Justin might have won a BB online game to Richard (which was correct) while Trisha enlisted Sarah’s help and said that she felt Barrett’s secret might have been seeing the death of a friend as a child. Trisha suggested to Richard they both reveal their own secrets to assist in a process of elimination of secrets. During a moment of bonding and seeking new allies, Nehemiah revealed his secret to Trisha who asked him if she could use his secret so they could swap places assuming he'd win veto. Nehemiah, feeling unsure that he could win didn't want her to use his secret and to assure him she wouldn't, Trisha revealed her secret to Nehemiah and they both vowed not to reveal one another's secret, however fortune shined and Trisha successfully guessed Barrett's secret and swapped places with him on the block; Richard chose not to use what Barrett hinted at and guessed unsuccessfully and since he was seen as a wildcard in the game, and Tesha and Barrett were unsure of whether he might let it slip that they helped him learn Devon's secret, were all ok with seeing him evicted. Richard was evicted and the house went into a double eviction with Tesha winning her first HoH, who quickly nominated Sarah and Trisha for eviction. The house then went into a new power of veto competition. Justin won the POV and decided to save Sarah from the block forcing his ally Tesha to name a replacement, thinking (hoping) she would finally backdoor Nehemiah, not realizing how close they were in the game, however Tesha named Hector as a replacement nominee. Trisha briefly considered using Nehemiah's secret even though she swore she wouldn't but decided to honor her word which would seal her fate. Hector and Trisha made the final (unsuccessful) guesses at secrets and the secrets twist came to an end. Eviction did not go her way and to her shock and surprise, Trisha became the newest member of the jury. Christine, Devon and Tesha were upset that Justin saved Sarah, Christine because Sarah was targeting her, Devon because Justin was closer to Sarah in the game and Tesha was forced to nominate yet one more person, which led to a tense discussion between Tesha and Justin and Devon and Justin and would later result in all three ladies setting into motion the foundation of a backdoor feeling that he was actually secretly playing them all. Christine said that he's been going after Nehemiah since the start of the game using everyone but now he has to do it himself. Hector would win the next HoH making everyone feel ill at ease since he said anyone can go up but was actually closely aligned with Justin, and to a lesser extent, Barret. Hector decided to nominate Nehemiah and Barrett. Justin felt this was the best time to get rid of his nemesis in the game and hoped no one would use the veto to save Nehemiah. Christine, Devon and Tesha continued to compare notes on Justin's game even while Devon was playing up her "allegiance" to Justin who was pressing her to try and get Tesha and Barrett on the block. The ladies wondered if it would be possible to get Justin on the block despite Hector being HoH but realized that would have to wait. Hector would come away with the veto holding all the power during his HoH reign and in a surprising move, to Justin's dismay and Sarah's shock, decided to remove Barrett from the block and named Sarah as his replacement falsely believing she had divulged information to Tesha about an alliance between him, Barrett, Justin and Sarah when in reality it had been Barrett that told that to Tesha. Sarah was voted out unanimously.

Following Sarah's eviction, Justin won HoH and would nominate Nehemiah and Christine making it crystal clear that his target was Nehemiah. Christine was nominated as a pawn. Justin assured her she was not the target but hopefully she would be able to pull out a competition win enabling Nehemiah to be evicted. Christine was heated but had no choice. Nehemiah campaigned to Tesha, Devon and Hector hoping someone would use the veto on him but realizing that at this point his only real chance was to win the veto himself. The die was cast, Justin had his nemesis squarely in his sights however at the POV Nehemiah once again saved himself by winning the veto. He removed himself from the block and Justin replaced him with Barrett. The remaining players then went into debating who was better to vote out. Christine knowing she had very little chance of remaining in the game, even with Devon, was evicted by a unanimous eviction leaving Devon the sole remaining Canadian in the game who would become the new HoH. Despite having two very big targets in the house, that being Nehemiah and Justin, Devon nominated Justin and Hector for eviction. Justin explained to Devon that he was never against her and that him winning the game wasn't as important over staying loyal to Hector and Devon. Hector was convinced that a secret power was hidden in the game and spent a great amount of time searching. There were no secret powers in the game. Nehemiah informed Tesha that Barrett, should he win veto, was contemplating taking Hector off the block in the hopes of backdooring him however Nehemiah won the veto and decided not to use it leaving nominations the same. Following the conclusion of the veto ceremony Justin bluffed the other players by hinting that he had a diamond power of veto spreading a bit of paranoia among the other players but in the end, Justin was voted out unanimously and Nehemiah would become the next HoH. Nehemiah nominated Hector and Devon for eviction and he also won the POV competition and held all the power and kept noms the same. Devon, Tesha and Barrett quickly conferred and confirmed their intent to remaining true to their F3 deal and decided that it was necessary to take Nehemiah out at the next HoH. Some suspicion began to rise between Barrett and Devon but ultimately Barrett decided to trust that Devon would stay true to their plan. Nehemiah let it be known that he wished to see Devon evicted but Tesha and Barrett both preferred to send Hector to jury fearing that he was more competitive in the challenges and would take a shot at either of them. Debate went back and forth much of the day into the evening. Eviction came and Tesha and Barrett both decided to stick to their word and evicted Hector. Following Hector’s eviction the final four went into the next HoH with Barrett emerging with his first HoH win and nominated Tesha and Devon for eviction. Tesha would later question Nehemiah why he suggested to Barrett to nominate her, feeling that with his wins and surviving this long into the game, that his resume was tough for anyone to beat while suggesting that Barrett take away her never having been nominated, the biggest feather in her cap to date, after hashing it out between them everyone's thoughts were on the final power of veto competition because it was all that mattered at this point. Devon won the final power of veto competition and saved herself from the block, switching places with Nehemiah and Devon cast the sole deciding vote and evicted Nehemiah leaving Tesha, Barrett and Devon the final three players of the game. The final 3-part HoH competition would determine the final HoH of the game. Devon outlasted the competition in an endurance competition to win part 1, Tesha dominated the most mentally grueling competition of the season to win part 2 and Devon in a thrilling head-to-head match with Tesha, would come away with the victory, winning part 3 and becoming the final head of household of the season. She decided to stay true to her initial final 2 alliance from the start of the game and evicted Barrett to the jury. During the finale, after answering an onslaught of questions from the jury, both finalists made their case to the jury on why they each felt they deserved to win the game. In the end, after the jury debated the merits of both finalists, Devon was crowned the winner of season eleven.

Twists
  • 3 or 4. At the start of the game, the audience began voting between the number 3 and the number 4. The number with the most votes would determine how many people the first Head of Household would have to nominate.
  • Secrets. Each player entered the game with a secret that none of the other players would know. When a player is nominated for eviction only the HoH's nominees can guess at a secret. If they guess correctly the nominee and the owner of the secret will swap places. That person will then be up for eviction and the HoH's nominee will be safe from eviction. This twist ended when there were 8 players left.

  • Backwards Week. An HoH cycle was played out backwards. Instead of an HoH competiton, all the players voted two people for nomination for eviction. Once the two nominees were determined, POV players were chosen and the POV competition was played. If the veto was used, the entire house (minus the remaining nominee) would vote again for one person to become the replacement nominee. The following day would be a new Head of Household competiton. The new HoH would then cast the sole vote for eviction.

Amy was nominated but decided to leave the game prior to the HoH competition, therefore her self-eviction was considered the eviction for the cycle and the game was reset.
