Virtual Big Brother

Virtual Big Brother 5: Second Chances This season was the first time in VBB history that the HGs were returning players. Everyone returning was someone who did not have a successful first time playing this game, seasons 1 through 4 were represented and all were playing with or against one another. Unlike in her first season, Katie did not become the first HoH, but instead became the first casualty of the season and was evicted. Following her eviction a video hint to a secret power was revealed to the players which sent all of the HGs scrambling to decode its meaning and find the hidden power. Nate was the first to crack the code and discover the power and in his excitement neglected to read the rules of use, more specifically, the final rule which said not to reveal this power to anyone or YOU will be evicted immediately; he became the second eviction of the season. A second hidden power was released into the game and would be claimed by Ricky who was also back to redeem his game. He used his Diamond Power of Veto to backdoor Nick which would result in his eviction to jury. Randi quickly emerged as THE competitor to beat during competitions after multiple attempts to evict her by numerous players. She also brought with her a refined social game and was able to claim her place in the game long enough this time to make it to the jury phase before being voted out. For Kevin, this time fortune smiled on his shot at redemption. Kevin saw immediate success managing to make it past the first eviction of the season and even won a HoH competition, but his game would ultimately come to an end. Kevin was the first member of the jury. Nick also improved upon his first experience with the game by getting much further using a combination of social guile a strong alliance but unfortunately, his game was cut short by the use of a secret Diamond Power of Veto that had been discovered in the game. Nick would follow his season 1 ally Kevin to the jury house. Paul, having approached the game with the same finesse and winning strategy as before, decided to appeal to the social side of the game even more avoiding getting blood on his hands. Paul was evicted at F6. Annie also was back to redeem herself after bowing out in her first season after being nominated. She was playing a strong and aggressive game until she found herself in the sights of the new HoH and knew she would be nominated, and once again bowed out of the game over being evicted, which unfortunately left the game with an 8-person jury. Aimee refined her game tactics, this time taking a much more decidedly quiet and social approach, aligning with her another player of her original alliance from season 4. Aimee's change in tactics bore fruit which landed her, her long-time season 4 ally Ashley, and Ricky in the final 3. Since the jury was left at 8 people, the final 3 players were given an extra task of unanimously deciding on which juror they would all agree to evict from jury to bring the jury number to 7 people. The final three voted and decided on evicting Nick. Nick would suffer a second eviction from a game of second chances. The finale would be between Aimee and Ashley. The jury of seven voted Ashley as the winner of season 5, second chances.

Twists
  • Second chances. This season was a season of redemption for players who had previously played but had a short, unsuccessful run at the game.
  • Hidden Diamond Power of Veto. The HG to find this power had the ability to remove a nominee from the eviction block and name the replacement themselves.
